Meet the Stark Strong Team

Lifelong Team

While Stark Strong Performance understands that training and conditioning are important, it is imperative that the athletes trained under us develop their characters into confident and socially empowered individuals of next-level potential. Leading by example, every athlete can benefit from a mentor, a cheerleader, and a disciplinarian to prepare them for the competitive behaviors life will challenge them with. This is why Stark Strong Performance is stellar at what we do.

Our Mission

To provide dedicated athletes quality speed development and injury prevention training; ultimately to systemize a method built on education and purpose that will reap the highest results and translate beyond our athlete’s time with us.

Meet the Coaches

LAURA STARK, PTA Global: Founder

Laura completed her college career as a 4 year Track and Field athlete and earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from Truman State University in May of 2015. Taking the tools she learned from her college career, internship, and various high level coaches in the NFL, MLB, NHL, and Sports Performance fields she started Stark Strong Performance, LLC in August of 2016. While continuing to learn under her mentor at the NFL level and hone in on speed development and injury prevention with NFL Combine, she developed a program to take the tools only seen at the pro level and share them with middle and high school age athletes. The Speed Enhancement Mentorship was founded in October of 2020 to not only share these high level tools, but to also create a lifestyle change sustainable beyond our athletes time with us.

JOEY STARK, CSCS: Athlete Success Director

As a 4 year student-athlete on the Avila University football team, Joey graduated in 2020 with a B.S. in Kinesiology and then made the move down to Florida to further his education as a Strength and Conditioning intern with the Florida Atlantic University football team. Since then he has taken the information he’s learned from both universities and a variety of past coaches to become an Athlete Success Director at Stark Strong Performance.

MARIANA MAZZOCCA, CSN: Athlete Success Director

Mariana is, simply put, a human with a passion for all things health. She is currently in her third year at Florida Tech playing D2 collegiate soccer and pursuing her biomedical science degree. She’s been playing soccer (along with several other sports along the way) for 16 years now, and her love for the sport has only grown. She grew up playing in South Florida and was fortunate enough to have a support system who pushed and helped her to get to where she is today. Her goal is to be a part of this support system for others and help achieve goals, no matter how big or small. She’s a soccer player but also just a person who wants to use her own experiences and knowledge to guide someone in the best direction.

OLIVIA ROTH: Athlete Success Director

Olivia is from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and is a student-athlete at Columbus State University in Georgia playing division 2 soccer. In school, she is working towards a degree in Exercise Science/Kinesiology to help her gain knowledge to further her career. Soccer has been a part of her life for about fifteen years, and for two years prior to joining the team as a coach, she was a part of Stark Strong Performance working with Laura as an athlete. The knowledge she retained brought her into joining the Stark Strong Performance team as an Athlete Success Director, and she is eager to help more athletes gain the speed and knowledge she has.

KIMMY EDGEWORTH, U.S. Soccer D-License: Athlete Success Director

Kimmy is originally from Peachtree City, Georgia and played four years of division two soccer, and one year of division two basketball at Columbus State University. She is currently a graduate assistant at Columbus State University for the women’s soccer team. She attained a bachelor’s degree in health science from this same university and she is currently seeking a masters degree in health and physical education. She wants to utilize both degrees and become a college coach for women’s soccer. Soccer has been in her life for 18 years, and her love for the sport continues to grow everyday. Her goal is to influence as many people as possible, and to bring a positive light into the lives of everyone around her.

What We Do

Stark Strong Performance works with athletes and coaches 2:1 to set and exceed goals around speed development and injury prevention.

The Speed Enhancement Mentorship is designed to take the high level tools only seen at the pro level and then not only bring them to middle and high school athletes, but also to challenge each athlete’s perspective and mindset so they are making lifestyle changes sustainable beyond their time with Stark Strong Performance.

Built on education and purpose behind movement, this 12 week mentorship has helped athletes decrease their 40 yd dash time by .5 seconds, receive scholarships from their dream school, and earn a starting spot on the team two levels higher than before.
